Job Description
The University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) is seeking to hire fully remote Adjunct Faculty members who are subject matter experts in Business.
UMPI is a public institution for competency‑based education (CBE) accredited by NECHE. The YourPace degree programs are self‑paced, student‑driven, subscription‑based competency‑education models that primarily serve adult learners.
YourPace invites applicants to be Instructors of Record and/or develop courses from a wide range of disciplines and professional skills for undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Teaching assignments may begin at any of our eight‑week sessions with six start dates per year.

All YourPace courses are fully online and asynchronous, and interpersonal interactions with students are expected. YourPace Adjunct Faculty are compensated based on agreements as per the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreements/MOU.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Adjunct Faculty for undergraduate degree programs must have at minimum a master’s degree from an accredited institution, and/or significant work experience in a related field.
Adjunct Faculty for graduate degree programs must have a Doctorate, terminal advanced degree in the field of study, and/or significant work experience in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching at the college‑level
Online teaching experience
Teaching a competency‑based education model
Technology Requirements
YourPace Adjunct Faculty are required to have the appropriate technology to teach in a fully online environment. This includes, but is not limited to:
Computer (laptop) with appropriate processing speed

Transcript for highest degree earned

Recruitment Process
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and candidates will be hired as programmatic needs arise. Applications will remain on file until May 30, 2026. If no communication regarding application status has been received by that date, the application will be considered inactive.
Candidates selected to proceed to the final stages of the search process will be requested to provide a list of references.
A background screening will be conducted on candidates who move forward in the selection process.
