Daytime Custodian

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and orderly school buildings and district facilities to support a positive learning environment. Duties include cleaning and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas; maintaining floors and disposing of trash and recycling; setting up and breaking down spaces for events; performing routine maintenance tasks and reporting repair needs; and following all safety procedures and proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals. The position requires reliability, attention to detail, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and the physical ability to perform custodial duties.

Petersburg School District is a small, close-knit district located in the heart of Southeast Alaska on Mitkof Island. Serving approximately 475 students in grades PreK12, our schools are recognized for strong academic achievement, innovative programs, and a supportive learning environment.

The district operates three schools on one campus: Rae C. Stedman Elementary, Mitkof Middle School, and Petersburg High School.
