Globe USD Bus Driver – Trips & Special Events

District School Bus Driver

This is a bus driving position. It involves the operation of a school bus for field trips, athletic and special events. Often requiring evening hours. This is an as-needed position.

Other duties include maintaining a daily mileage log, supervising the conduct of students and writing misconduct reports when necessary; checking and maintaining the bus daily for cleanliness and safe operations; checking gauges for oil and water; and performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Must possess a Class B CDL with air brake, and P and S endorsement, and Bus Driver Certification. The Globe School District Transportation Department will assist with training and certification.
• Must pass an annual physical, visual and hearing exam, drug screen, and be able to perform the basic functions of the position.
• CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Work location: Transportation

Skills and knowledge: Ability to work accurately with figures. Knowledge of bus driving and all applicable laws pertaining to student/passenger transportation and CDL's.

Physical requirements: Works standing and moving. May require bending, stairs, lifting of up to 50 pounds. Driving between school sites, valid Arizona Drivers Licenses is required. CDL with passenger and student endorsements required.

Length of work year: 10 months

Salary range: $17.10 until licensed. $19.35 - $21.00 classified salary schedule, F
