MATERIALS PLANNER

AIRLINE COMPANY

ROLE IS 100% ONSITE - HONOLULU, HI

$34 - $37.70/hr, $5,984-$6,512/month COMPENSATION RATE (depending on experience)

Our client is a large airline company based in the Greater Seattle Area.

MATERIALS PLANNER

Role Summary: We are seeking a highly self-sufficient Materials Planner to support the MRO Technical Sourcing team. This is a contract role designed for a candidate who can operate independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with limited SOPs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and data analysis skills and will be comfortable navigating ambiguity in daily operations.

Key Duties:

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage material availability to support operational and maintenance requirements.
  • Perform forecasting and demand analysis using available data and ERP systems.
  • Analyze large datasets to support decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Work cross-functionally with sourcing, operations, and technical teams.
  • Independently identify issues, evaluate options, and recommend solutions with minimal direction.
  • Support process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in activities related to system integration and data reconciliation efforts.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills:

Required: Prior experience in materials planning, supply chain, or operations.

  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities; must be comfortable working without detailed SOPs.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills (pivot tables, data navigation, reporting).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Comfortable with situational and behavioral interview discussions using real-world examples.

Preferred: Experience in the airline or aviation industry (airlines, OEMs, or aviation vendors) strongly preferred.

  • Experience with large, complex operations or corporate environments (e.g., logistics, manufacturing, e-commerce).
  • Familiarity with forecasting and inventory planning concepts.
  • Exposure to BI or analytics tools (SQL is a plus but not required).
  • Relevant certifications are a plus but not required:
  • Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement
  • Supply Chain certifications
  • Project Managementrelated certifications.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Duration: 4/30 to start, to run for 6 months, with chance to extend (extension may depend on business need; no conversion opportunity at this time).

Location: Honolulu, HI. Candidates must work onsite, Monday through Friday (no remote or hybrid option).

Daily Schedule: M-F, 40 hours a week, no OT anticipated. Standard business hours with some flexibility (e.g., 7:00 AM4:00 PM or 8:00 AM5:00 PM).

Hardware: Client will provide.

Role Requirements: Client requires a background test & a drug screen before start.
