Description

Job Description:
A growth-focused investment firm is seeking a Senior Vice President of Operations. The Senior Vice President of Operations is a hands-on change agent who understands insurance operations. This dynamic, ever-changing role bridges the organization and independent agencies, aligning teams while building operational rigor without disrupting what already works. The SVP will lead systems implementations, standardize back-office operations, streamline onboarding, improve data and process reliability, and drive AI initiatives. Success requires agility, strong people skills, and the ability to turn operational changes into tangible benefits for both agencies and their founders. This is a retained search.

Responsibilities:

Operational Integration and Process Optimization - Drive transition to a structured, efficient agency model; document current processes; standardize back-office operations such as claims, onboarding, and underwriting; identify efficiency and reliability improvements.

Agency and Founder Relationship Management - Serve as primary liaison to independent agency founders and key staff, foster collaboration and team cohesion, gain buy-in for operational changes, and communicate benefits, including impacts on management incentive units.

Technology and Automation Leadership - Sponsor and support technology initiatives, implement AI tools and software integrations, automate workflows, and enhance data accuracy and operational efficiency.

Strategic Revenue and Contract Optimization - Align revenue-related activities, processes, and resources for efficiency and profitability, negotiate better contracts with carriers, and leverage combined agency scale.

Data Management and Reporting - Own systems and data projects across all businesses, ensure consistent and reliable financial, operational and KPI reporting, and support data-driven decision-making.

Requirements:

7+ years of commercial lines property and casualty insurance experience, ideally reflecting a 70% commercial mix

Knowledge of independent, “Main Street” insurance agencies

Demonstrated operational experience within both small, entrepreneurial agencies and larger, structured corporate organizations

Proven track record with systems integrations, implementations, and process improvements
