Sandblaster

Job Duties:

• Shovels or pours abrasives such as metal shot of a specified grade into machine hopper.
• Masks specified areas of object to protect from abrading action.
• Turns valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of abrasive steel shot mixture flowing through nozzle.
• Starts equipment that directs blast or flow of abrasive laden compressed air over surface of parts.
• Directs nozzle over surface of large parts and manipulates small parts under nozzle for specified interval.
• Examines finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Perform light equipment maintenance
• May assist Assembly workers in the assembly of trailers, skids and ground containment units when not sandblasting.

Job Requirements:

• High school or GED education; or up to 3 months related experience and on the job training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to comprehend instructions. Certification in overhead Crane operation and safety inspection and Hazmat.
• Must pass respirator fit test and training.
• Need to be able to lift 50+ lbs and have ability to stoop, crouch, bend, climb and kneel.
