Collections Specialist

The Collections Specialist plays a key role in maintaining strong cash flow, ensuring accurate payment tracking, and supporting overall financial operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Review daily cash receipts and ensure accurate and timely posting of payments
  • Handle missing payments, write-offs, and attorney appeal requests
  • Track outstanding invoices and proactively follow up with clients, adjusters, and claim representatives
  • Send overdue notices, reminders, and collection correspondence via email and phone
  • Collaborate with attorneys and billing teams to manage appeals, deductions, and invoice corrections
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in ARCS and related systems
  • Monitor flagged accounts and follow up to resolve outstanding balances
  • Prepare reports and provide updates on collections and payment status
  • Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and internal teams regarding payment inquiries
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong working relationships
  • Assist in resolving billing discrepancies and payment issues
  • Support process improvements and maintain internal procedures for collections workflows
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in collections, billing, or finance, preferably in a legal or insurance environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in payment processing and reconciliation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word) and systems such as ARCS
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve discrepancies
  • Customer service-oriented with strong interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative team player with strong organizational and time management abilities
