The Administrative Assistant performs a variety of critical duties under the direction of the Building Principal. Responsibilities include maintaining student health records, managing the school office, coordinating and distributing medication, handling discipline/attendance-related correspondence, and providing administrative support, such as keyboarding, filing, and telephone protocol. The role also involves scheduling the principal's appointments and assisting with student supervision.
This position requires considerable independence in scheduling work to align with the school's cyclical demands and ensure maximum efficiency. Extreme discretion and considerable judgment are essential, particularly when handling confidential information, managing the release of records, retaining information in official student files, and researching and interpreting data for entry into student records. The employee is required to exercise extreme discretion when handling confidential information.
