Bookkeeper Position

A vacancy exists for a Bookkeeper position within the Business Office in the Administrative Services Division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. This position will be located at the Educational Service Center in Downingtown, PA. The position will be responsible for assisting the Staff Accountant of Special Education Schools and Programs and to maintain files for Special Education schools and programs.

Qualifications: Education and Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent or three years experience in accounts payable, data entry and clerical duties with a strong computer background Must be proficient in Excel Professional or Other Required Clearances Current State Police, Child Abuse, and FBI Fingerprints, clearances within 1 year required

Essential Job Responsibilities: Process invoices for payment and maintain files for thirty-five (35) state, federal and local budgets and programs for the Student Services and Administrative Services Divisions. Assist the Staff Accountants in compiling necessary documentation for the completion of final expenditure reports, annual audits and third-party monitoring. Coordinate with the financial secretaries to ensure that Purchase Orders are properly maintained and close them when completed. Responsible for maintaining a spreadsheet for all blanket purchase orders to ensure available funding levels and compliance. Co-responsible for the completeness and maintenance of the Accounts Payable filing system. Responsible for the preparation and distribution of reporting paperwork to employees; maintain spreadsheet of information for staff accountant. Responsible for the distribution of the Accounts Payable mail, weekly. Responsible to verify cafeteria bank deposits weekly. Perform other tasks as requested.

Salary Range: Support, Level 11, $23.69 - $29.61 per hour (Non-exempt) * Placement on band is based on years of direct experience in a comparable role. 260 day position, 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week JG Equal Opportunity Employer Chester County Intermediate Unit is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
