Requirements:

- High school diploma

- 2-4 years of experience in general ledger accounting, journal entries, or month-end close processes

Overview:

Entry-level General Accounting role working under close supervision within the company's Controllership group. Duties may span Accounts Receivable, Fees and Commission cash reconciliation, Cash Control, Fiduciary, and General Ledger functions.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare journal entries, money moves, payments, billing, administrative system accounting reports, and/or consolidated statements

- Analyze and maintain general ledger accounts and/or client insured records

- Prepare and analyze accounting reports, including variances to forecast, budget, and prior year

- Coordinate revenue and expense accruals; ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly close

- Perform variation and trend analysis for key general ledger accounts or reports

- Apply funds and process refunds to insured records; request payments for carriers and third parties

- Present findings to senior management, partners, carriers, or clients as needed

- Assist with development, implementation, and documentation of internal and external accounting policies, procedures, and process improvements

- Verify work of and guide less experienced accountants or offshore staff

- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, SOX, SSAE16, tax regulations, local GAAP, US GAAP, and local statutory regulations
