Maintenance Position
Full-Time Maintenance position for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year at Meridian Public Schools.
Location: Meridian Public Schools
Hours/Calendar: Starting as soon as possible (40 hours per week, 6:00a.m.-2:30p.m. with 30 minute unpaid lunch)
Qualifications: High School Diploma, or equivalent. See Additional Duties and Responsibilities Below. Regular and Reliable Attendance is an Essential Job Function.
Rate of Pay: Starting at $15.83-$16.68 per hour based on experience with Paid Time off, Paid Holidays, Medical Benefits, and State Retirement Plan.
Supervisor: Director of Operations

Major Job Function Maintenance Summary
The Maintenance personnel is responsible for the safety, security, and cleanliness of the building(s) and grounds, maintaining the school physical plant in a condition of operating excellence for full educational use at all times. Reports to: Director of Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains excellent personal hygiene.
- Possesses and maintains an excellent attendance record.
- Works with standard chemicals.
- Snow removal.
- Changes light bulbs and repairs light fixtures.
- Checks the heating plant and related equipment for proper operation.
- Performs plumbing and mechanical repairs and maintenance within the building and grounds such as, but not limited to, leaky faucets or pipes, door and window hardware.
- Continually checks, corrects, or reports dangerous equipment conditions and potential hazards.
- Climbs ladders and works from scaffolding.
- Effectively communicates all operational needs to principals, staff, and the operations office.
- Makes necessary arrangements for events and activities.
- Performs a lead role with staff to communicate, organize, and carry out work orders, utilizing the work order system.
- Self-motivated, ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations.
