Welding Shop Helper

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Welding Shop Helper to support our welding team in a busy manufacturing environment. The Welding Shop Helper will assist welders and other shop personnel with various tasks to ensure smooth operations in the welding shop. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the welding industry while contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist welders in preparing materials and tools for welding tasks.
2. Clean and maintain welding equipment, tools, and workstations to ensure safe and efficient operations.
3. Move and handle materials, ensuring they are organized and accessible to welders.
4. Load, unload, and stage raw materials for welding projects.
5. Grind, cut, and shape metal pieces using hand tools as directed by senior welders.
6. Monitor inventory levels of welding supplies and assist with restocking materials.
7. Ensure that the welding area is clean, organized, and safe by following safety protocols.
8. Assist in assembling and positioning components for welding.
9. Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
10. Support with administrative tasks related to the shop, such as filing and maintaining logs of materials.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Welding Supervisor or Manager.
