Temporary Lead Camp Counselors
The City of Sherwood is looking for two temporary Lead Camp Counselors! The City of Sherwood is recruiting two outstanding, energetic individuals to help lead our summer camps at Sherwood Center for the Arts. Come be a part of our ArtSmart summer program and make a difference in the lives of dozens of young people! Lead Camp Counselors will organize and lead a variety of youth activities for our Arts & Rec summer camps, which encompass art, crafts, science, drama, games, outings, and a variety of recreational activities. While leading these activities you will also support the physical, social, and cognitive development of the participants. We are seeking candidates with the knowledge, skill, and enthusiasm for working with children and youth in a team-oriented environment. This position organizes and leads arts and recreational activities around a central theme. This is a seasonal position, reporting to the Center for the Arts Manager. This position will work primarily with the ArtSmart "Arts & Rec" summer day camp program held at Sherwood Center for the Arts, serving ages 6-13. The schedule takes place over five weeks in the summer, with approximately five hours of mandatory paid staff training occurring during the week of June 22. Candidates will be expected to be available to work:
- June 29-July 1, Monday-Thursday from 9 am-4:30 pm
- July 6-10, Monday-Friday from 12:00-4:30 pm
- July 13-17, Monday-Friday from 9 am-4:30 pm
- July 20-24, Monday-Friday from 9 am-4:30 pm
- July 27-31, Monday-Friday from 9 am-4:30 pm
Candidates who are available for the entirety of this summer session will be given strong preference.
