POSITION: Material Handler - Parttime (up to 20 hours/week)

WORK LOCATION: 5700 S. 38th St. Phoenix AZ 85040 (38th St. and Southern)

WORK SCHEDULE: Shifts below are available Monday to Saturday, but working all days is not required. You can choose a schedule that works for your lifestyle and availability.

Shift #1: 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Shift #2: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Shift #3: 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM

Shift #4: 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM

SATURDAY: 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM

WHAT ARE THE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES?

As a key contributor to our distribution team, the Material Handler is responsible for safely operating forklifts, or other industrial equipment, to move raw metal materials from inventory to the metal-cutting cells This role is also responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product produced. Additionally, this role may be required to serve as back-up for other warehouse roles.

  • Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution.
  • Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.
  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
  • Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Locates and packs materials for shipping.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WILL I NEED TO HAVE?

  • High School diploma or GED (preferred)
  • 3+ months of experience working in a warehouse, production or manufacturing environment
  • Forklift Experience (preferred)
  • Read, write, and speak in English
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety
  • Experience in the metal cutting/distribution industry is a plus
  • Experience with hand tools and measuring equipment such as tape measures, calipers or micrometers is a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
