Cost Accountant

Support manufacturing and operations finance through accurate cost accounting, inventory valuation, and variance analysis. In this role, you will:

  • Support the monthly cost accounting close, including inventory valuation, GR/IR analysis, cost revaluations, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Analyze material, labor, overhead, and manufacturing variances.
  • Maintain and support standard cost systems, including cost rollups, updates, and exception reviews.
  • Assist with inventory accounting activities, including in-transit inventory, rebates, tolling, and intercompany transactions.
  • Support absorption accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Partner with plant and operations teams to resolve cost issues and improve data accuracy.
  • Prepare and maintain schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for audits, internal controls, and SOX compliance.
  • Assist with property accounting coordination, depreciation support, and project-related accounting activities.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, including automation, reporting enhancements, and system transitions.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed.

Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, with exposure to cost accounting, manufacturing, or plant finance strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of inventory accounting and manufacturing cost concepts.
  • Experience with SAP (ECC and/or S/4); BOBJ experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
