Description
Medical Scheduler
Minivasive Pain and Orthopedics is looking for a full-time medical scheduler in Kingwood 77584. The scheduler is responsible for checking out patients and understanding patient needs to successfully organize and schedule procedures accordingly and promptly.
Essential functions include:
- Communicating with all appropriate parties regarding patient and procedure
- Following up and ensuring all documentation is obtained
- Verifying if all authorizations have been obtained prior to scheduling procedures
- Scheduling and/or rescheduling patient follow-ups and procedures
- Coordinating transportation for our procedure patients if needed
- Informing and providing patients with necessary information and instructions prior to procedure date
- Following up on all canceled or no-show patients
- Checking out patients
- Sending prescriptions to pharmacy via fax or email
- Moving patients through appointments as scheduled
- Answering telephone and dealing with inquiries
- Updating patient information into the database
- Scanning and filing into patient docs on eCW
- Managing filing and record keeping activities
- Updating daily log for all patients office visits
- Updating daily log of all patients who have confirmed procedures
- Submitting information to verification department for pre-authorization
- Ensuring completeness and accuracy of patient forms
- Protecting patient and family privacy rights and maintaining confidentiality of patient records in accordance with policy and procedure and HIPAA requirements
- Traveling as necessary to other facilities
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, and eCW
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
- Ability to communicate professionally with patients
- Energetic with a desire to learn and develop new skills
- Ability to travel between various locations if needed
Education and experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- One (1) year of experience in a medical office scheduling setting

Compensation to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Employment for this position is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
