Staff Accountant

The staff accountant works as part of the accounting department to maintain the company's financial records and support the preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Essential responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, document and post journal entries.
  • Prepare and maintain schedules for general ledger accounts (e.g. fixed assets, pre-paid and accruals).
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Research and resolve general ledger account discrepancies.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Assist with month-end close.
  • Back-up payroll processing.
  • Accounts payable support.
  • Assist with budget preparation.
  • Bank reconciliation.
  • Preparing and filing 1099 NEC/MISC forms.
  • Prepare, file and remit monthly sales and use tax returns.
  • Attend department meetings and clinic required meetings.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.

Education/experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent certificate in accounting.

• 1-3 years' general ledger experience or equivalent auditing experience.

• Intermediate Excel skills.

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience preferred.

• ADP payroll experience preferred.

Position type/expected hours of work:

This is a full-time position in an administrative healthcare office setting. Days and hours of work are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. The number of hours each week may vary to meet the responsibilities assigned to the position.

Work environment:

Environmentally controlled medical environment. Fast paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent situations.
