Maintenance - Warehouse
This position is responsible for delivering, packing, picking, and storing materials in the warehouse.
This position is expected to complete requested work orders.
This position is part of the maintenance team and reports to the warehouse supervisor.
Primary duties/responsibilities include:
- Preparing and completing orders for delivery or pick-up according to schedule. Furniture moving is required.
- Receiving and processing by picking, unloading, labeling, and storing warehouse stock products.
- Performing inventory controls and keeping quality standards high for audits.
- Reporting warehouse discrepancies.
- Operating warehouse vehicles and equipment.
- Following quality service standards and complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Responding to after hours and emergency situations.
- Removing snow ensuring parking lot and sidewalks are safe for people and vehicles.
- May be required to work graduation weekend or other event weekends.
- Performing other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Education and experience requirements:
- Experience in inventory software preferred.
- Experience in warehouse environment preferred.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include:
- Demonstrate understanding of verbal and written communication and ability to speak and write at a level sufficient to perform the duties of the job.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- High degree of motivation, responsibility, and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability in compiling, organizing, and analyzing data.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced work environment.
- Highly collaborative team player.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios.
- Firm adherence to safety practices.
Physical requirements:
This position requires the performance of heavy work which may include exerting up to 100 pounds of force, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The position involves all environmental working conditions which include but not limited to extreme cold/heat, close quarters, hazards, loud noises, and vibration. The position also requires frequent balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, talking, and walking. The position also requires occasional fingering and repetitive motion.
