Packaging Mechanic / Packaging Technician

Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Packaging Mechanic / Packaging Technician role in Vancouver, WA. Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on packaging equipment including fillers, sealers, labelers, conveyors, and palletizing systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
  • Conduct routine inspections of packaging machinery to identify wear, defects, or potential failures.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Assist with machine setup, changeovers, and line adjustments to support different product runs and packaging formats.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records, repair logs, and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure packaging lines meet safety, quality, and performance standards.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance and production environment.
  • Promptly report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or operational concerns to supervisors.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in mechanical maintenance, industrial technology, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with packaging machinery, production equipment, or industrial maintenance is preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical components, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Ability to read basic technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, standing, and working around moving equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
