Director, SC Plan & Inventory Optimize

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Director, SC Plan & Inventory Optimize; his hybrid position will be in Raynham, MA (USA). Alternate hybrid locations may be considered at Raritan, NJ (USA), West Chester, PA (USA), Warsaw, IN (USA), or Palm Beach Gardens, FL (USA).

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

This role provides strategic and technical leadership for supply chain planning and inventory optimization capabilities across DePuy Synthes. The Director will shape the technology roadmap, lead global solution delivery, and partner closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and Commercial teams to enable data-driven planning, improved service levels, and optimized inventory investment. This is a high-impact role driving enterprise transformation, operational excellence, and scalable digital solutions across a complex, global supply network and reports into the DePuy Synthes Technology organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the supply chain technology strategy for planning and inventory optimization, aligned with business priorities and IT standards
  • Lead the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of advanced planning, demand forecasting, supply planning, and inventory optimization solutions
  • Partner with global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, and Commercial leaders to translate business needs into scalable technology solutions
  • Lead the application of AI, advanced analytics, and automation to modernize supply chain platforms, improving demand forecasting, planning accuracy, and end-to-end decision-making while driving efficient and resilient supply chain operations at scale.
  • Drive data, analytics, and digital enablement to improve forecast accuracy, service levels, and working capital performance
  • Oversee a portfolio of global programs and projects, ensuring delivery on scope, timeline, budget, and value realization
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of IT professionals and solution partners, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure solutions comply with cybersecurity, data privacy, quality, and regulatory requirements applicable to a medical technology environment
  • Manage relationships with external technology vendors and system integrators to maximize performance and value

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required in Information Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Master's degree or MBA preferred

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • 10 -12 years of progressive experience in IT, supply chain systems, or digital transformation roles
  • Proven leadership experience delivering enterprise-scale supply chain planning and inventory optimization solutions
  • Strong understanding of demand planning, supply planning, S&OP/IBP, and inventory management processes
  • Experience leading global, cross-functional teams and complex technology programs
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy into technology roadmaps and executable plans
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and change leadership skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in medical devices, life sciences, or highly regulated manufacturing environments
  • Hands-on experience with leading supply chain planning platforms and advanced analytics solutions
  • Familiarity with cloud-based architectures, data platforms, and integration technologies
  • Experience supporting global operations across multiple regions and markets
  • Demonstrated success driving adoption of digital and data-driven ways of working

  • Travel: Up to 20%, domestic and international
  • Certifications: PMP, Agile, or supply chain–related certifications preferred

The anticipated base pay range for this position is: $150,000.00 - $258,750.00
