Mechanical Packaging Service Representative

Mechanical Packaging Service Representative is responsible for safely maintaining, repairing, replacing and modifying all company-owned and customer-owned packaging machinery with optimal quality and efficiency.

Position Requirements and Demands

Able & willing to travel to 3-4 months at a time (MI, TN, NJ, NY, NC, SC, GA, FL, TX, and Mexico)

Able to work weekends and holidays; common to work Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays during produce season

Ability to walk, stand on concrete and uneven surfaces for 8-12 hours/day

Must have very effective organizational and communication skills.

Previous mechanical service experience, 2-4 years preferred

Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

Must have a valid driver license and passport

Must have a driving record in good standing

Position Responsibilities

Repair and maintain company & customer owned packaging machinery such as: case erectors, trayformers, bliss machines, cornerpost machines, case sealers, stitchers

Diagnose machine problems and order necessary parts through operations manager

Develop regular preventative maintenance schedule to ensure ideal machine operation, minimize risk for machine downtime during season, and prolong life of machines

Maintain proper inventory of normal wear & tear parts a for packaging machinery at warehouse, customers' facilities, and in truck

Alert operations manager and sales rep of potential issues or persistent problems at customer (packaging and/or machinery)

Train customer appointees how to operate machine on a daily basis and how to perform daily/weekly cleaning

Maintain organized documentation, inspection records, etc

Rebuild packaging machinery during downtime

Conduct yourself in a professional manner while in front of the customer and coworkers

Must demonstrate an understanding of Pratt's and the customer's objectives including productivity, safety, quality, customer service and cost goals; daily work activities should support achieving those goal

Serve as a resource to other mechanics to help resolve mechanical issues

Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment at all times
