Box Truck Driver

Adecco is assisting a customer in East Hartford who is recruiting for a box truck driver to deliver products to commercial customers and project sites throughout Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. This role requires strong time management, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent customer service. Drivers are responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and safe delivery of goods while maintaining compliance with all transportation regulations. The hours are Monday- Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The rate of pay is $28.00 per hour.

Job Duties:

• Operate a box truck safely and efficiently on assigned delivery routes

• Deliver products to commercial clients and other project locations
• Load and unload cargo, sometimes using pallet jacks, liftgates, or by hand
• Verify delivery contents against invoices and obtain customer signatures
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues
• Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle
• Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and team members
• Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safety policies

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license
• Clean driving record with a strong focus on safety
• Minimum 1-2 years of delivery driving experience preferred
• Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items (up to 50-75 lbs regularly)
• Familiarity with Connecticut and Western Massachusetts roadways is a plus
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities

Work Environment:

• Frequent driving in varying weather and traffic conditions
• Regular loading and unloading of materials
• Interaction with customers at job sites, warehouses, and business locations

Schedule & Compensation:

• Full-time schedule, typically Monday-Friday
• Competitive hourly pay based on experience
• Overtime opportunities available

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record check
• DOT medical card

Pay Details: $28.00 to $27.00 per hour
