Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer

Boeing Global Services is currently hiring for a Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer with broad range of experience levels including Entry Level or Associate to be a part of the Ft Walton Beach Engineering team. This position is an exclusive opportunity to help Boeing work everything from KC-130H Refueling Tankers to F-15 and F/A-18 fighter jets to V-22 rotorcraft, based out of Fort Walton, Florida.

Come be part of a multi-disciplined team of engineers, operating in an agile environment, using the latest tools and methodologies. We design and deliver modifications to existing platforms, adding new technology. Our facility in Ft Walton Beach also performs maintenance repair and overhaul and many aircraft components to include landing gear. This opportunity gives our team the chance to evaluate various wear conditions and develop solutions to return items to flight.

This is an exclusive opportunity to support the war fighter, by providing the equipment needed to return to battle. We an integral in interpreting engineering blueprints and translating them into modifications or repair steps. Engineering teams are partnered with our team on the shop floor collaborating on the repairs being performed.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work onsite 5 days a week
  • Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment
  • Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers
  • Performs limited detail design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations
  • Supports team in performing spatial integration at system or component level and modification of mechanisms/landing gear/ordinance systems.
  • Assists in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems
  • Assists in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts
  • Works under close supervision

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • As of the date you are applying to this position, have you graduated with a Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate degree from an accredited course of study
  • Experience with using computer-aided design (CAD) tools to design mechanical components

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience assembling, repairing, and testing mechanical and electrical components and systems
  • 1+ Experience working with finite element models / simulations using one or more of the following: ANSYS, PATRAN, NASTRAN, ABAQUS, Hypermesh, LS-Dyna, Optistruct
  • Experience with JIRA, DESE/Cameo, Matlab/Simulink, Scripting code (Matlab, C++, Fortran)
  • Experience involving design or sustainment of refueling tanker platforms preferably hose and drogue pod system.
  • Experience with C-130 aircraft
  • Experience with military aircraft systems, troubleshooting and support
  • Experience working with foreign countries as a customer
  • Experience supporting FMS (Foreign Military Sales) contracts
  • 1+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.)
