Material Handler

Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for the storage and dispensing of parts and materials required for the MI's kitting process. Maintains the stock department clean and organized. Handles routine questions and problems and maintains open communication with other departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Receives, logs and stores parts and materials in the Kardex system.
• Completes all documents, forms, and reports in accordance with company policy.
• Retrieves parts from inventory on request or if the requested parts are not in inventory notifies Supervisor or appropriate parts department personnel.
• Places all parts and materials in appropriate area or delivers parts as needed, logs inventory and delivery in accordance with company guidelines.
• Organizes and maintains the stockroom area according to company standards.
• Establishes and maintains logical locations for all containers and accessories needed to perform this function.
• Communicates respectfully with co-workers to maintain a healthy teamwork environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor or department Manager.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent education.
• Effective experience conducting transactions utilizing computerized equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft software applications. Outlook, Excel, Word, Access.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to stand, twist and bend up to 50% of the time
• Strong organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail
