Hybrid Staff Accountant
This is a remote position. Client Information - An Indiana based company offering a range of services including tax preparation, bookkeeping, business consulting and tax resolution. The organization's mission is to deliver high-quality financial management and value based advisory services. Summary - The hybrid staff accountant supports the President with day-to-day accounting functions including financial reporting, bookkeeping and tax preparation for individual and business clients. This role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills to ensure clients receive timely, compliant, and high quality financial services.
Core Responsibilities
- Accounting & Financial Management
- Prepare, analyze, and maintain accurate financial statements, general ledgers, and reconciliations.
- Manage bookkeeping, payroll, and tax compliance for assigned clients.
- Conduct month-end and year-end closings, budget preparation, and cash flow management.
- Provide detailed financial analysis and performance reporting to clients.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
Advisory & Client Development
- Conduct client review meetings to identify needs, gaps, and opportunities for service expansion.
- Offer consultative recommendations in areas such as CFO services, tax planning, and compliance optimization.
- Collaborate with the sales team to design proposals, service packages, and upgrade opportunities.
- Maintain accurate CRM data to track leads, opportunities, and client activity.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, fostering long-term partnerships and business growth.
Sales & Relationship Integration
- Partner with the Business Development Specialist to transition qualified leads into active clients.
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within existing accounts.
- Support proposal presentations and client onboarding to ensure a smooth handoff.
- Contribute to the firm's revenue goals by achieving monthly and quarterly conversion targets.
Performance Expectations
- Accuracy: Deliver all financial statements and reports with 100% accuracy and timeliness.
- Growth: Secure 1–2 new or upgraded client service leads per month.
- Engagement: Maintain high client satisfaction and retention scores.
- Collaboration: Actively engage in firmwide sales meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 2+ years of accounting experience (public or private firm experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial analysis, and tax preparation.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and CRM systems.
- Excellent communication, client relationship, and consultative skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for helping clients grow.
Starting Salary: $50,000 to $65,000 plus competitive bonus and incentive opportunities. (30 to 40 hours per week)
