Customer Service Representative

We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our team as a Patient Billing Support Specialist! The Patient Billing Support Specialist serves as a primary point of contact for patients of a vision practice with questions about their bills, insurance coverage, and payment options. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping patients, thrives in a call-focused environment, and has experience explaining medical billing in a clear, compassionate way.

Responsibilities:
  • Answer incoming patient phone calls related to billing, statements, balances, and payment options.
  • Explain insurance benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and billing terminology in a clear and courteous manner
  • Research and resolve billing questions, discrepancies, and concerns accurately and timely
  • Document customer interactions and actions taken
  • Coordinate with clinical, billing, and insurance staff to resolve patient issues
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards

Qualifications:
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid policies as well as general insurance knowledge preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
  • High ethical and professional standards
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
