Central Office Administrative Assistant

Ledyard Public Schools is seeking a Central Office Administrative Assistant. This is a full time, year round position at Ledyard Public Schools Central Office and is to fill an anticipated vacancy. Under the general supervision of the administration, the Administrative Assistant performs a wide variety of clerical, secretarial, and recordkeeping tasks. Responsibilities include providing administrative support to leadership and staff as requested, creating forms, compiling and organizing data and information necessary for the efficient operation of the office, maintaining appointment and event calendars, coordinating meetings and events, communicating effectively in routine, sensitive, and confidential matters, responding to routine questions and requests for the administration using various communication methods, demonstrating a high degree of relationship management, fostering professional and effective interpersonal relationships to contribute to a positive working relationship with Ledyard Public Schools, and performing special assignments, studies, routine administrative functions and other related duties as assigned by the administration or designee.

Knowledge, skills and abilities include excellent organizational skills, proven ability to prioritize work projects and meet deadlines, excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and decision making skills; ability to work with employees and the public in a professional, effective, and courteous manner, and working knowledge of G-Suite office software.

Qualifications include an associate's degree or equivalent work experience in a secretarial or administrative support role and a high school diploma. Salary and benefits per the Ledyard Educational Secretaries Agreement with medical, dental and vision offered, 403(b)/457 retirement plan available, and paid time off. Physical demands include work in a collaborative, busy office environment, prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, and must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
