Seasonal Maintenance
Sycamore Community Schools is seeking reliable and motivated individuals to support our Maintenance team during the summer months. This position plays a key role in preparing and maintaining our buildings and outdoor spaces to ensure they are safe, clean, and ready for the upcoming school year.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Operating lawn care equipment, including mowers and string trimmers
- General grounds maintenance, including mulching and weeding
- Assisting with moving furniture and equipment within school buildings
- Stadium and athletic facility cleaning and preparation
- Supporting custodial teams with interior cleaning as needed
- Assisting with light maintenance tasks, including painting as needed
- Performing other duties as assigned to support summer maintenance operations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Driver's License required
- Experience operating lawn care equipment (mowers, trimmers) preferred
- Ability to safely drive a truck and/or pull a trailer is desired
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor, including lifting, carrying, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Additional Information:
This position will primarily involve outdoor work, with some indoor responsibilities as needed. Candidates must be able to follow safety procedures and work collaboratively with district staff.
