Seasonal Maintenance

Sycamore Community Schools is seeking reliable and motivated individuals to support our Maintenance team during the summer months. This position plays a key role in preparing and maintaining our buildings and outdoor spaces to ensure they are safe, clean, and ready for the upcoming school year.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operating lawn care equipment, including mowers and string trimmers
  • General grounds maintenance, including mulching and weeding
  • Assisting with moving furniture and equipment within school buildings
  • Stadium and athletic facility cleaning and preparation
  • Supporting custodial teams with interior cleaning as needed
  • Assisting with light maintenance tasks, including painting as needed
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support summer maintenance operations

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Experience operating lawn care equipment (mowers, trimmers) preferred
  • Ability to safely drive a truck and/or pull a trailer is desired
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor, including lifting, carrying, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Additional Information:

This position will primarily involve outdoor work, with some indoor responsibilities as needed. Candidates must be able to follow safety procedures and work collaboratively with district staff.
