Tech Field Geologist 2

Location: Vincent AL, 35178

Job Type: 3 years onsite contract

Shift: (Monday – Thursday) 4 days a week and 10 hours a day.

Pay Rate: $30.00 hourly on W2

Experience Required:

  • 5–10 years of experience in a related field

Education:

  • Accredited bachelor’s degree in Geology preferred. Geological Engineering accepted.

Responsibilities:

  • Field oversight for monitoring well installation programs, foundation investigations, contamination assessments, geologic site characterizations, or related projects.
  • Perform soil and rock logging.
  • Prepare professional logs for soil, rock, and monitoring well construction data.
  • Install water monitoring, water quality equipment, and manage the data output.
  • Manage drilling and other related contractors per company guidelines and procedures.
  • Interface with various customers, assist Geologist and Land Group peers to facilitate field investigations.
  • 100% travel.

Skill Sets & Expertise:

  • Experience in executing field investigations utilizing various drilling methods and resources.
  • Experience with soil and rock logging, monitoring well construction, groundwater monitoring, and field data reporting.
  • Knowledge of environmental sampling and testing methods.
  • General knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Working knowledge of gINT BoreDM Boring Log Program.
  • Flexible computer skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Safety-first mindset.
  • Exhibit customer focus and conflict resolution skills.

Work Schedule & Travel:

  • Typical Worker/Geologist work week is 4, 10-hour days (Monday – Thursday) with some 10-day shifts.
  • Extensive travel throughout the southeastern United States, mainly Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi.

Transportation & Reimbursements:

  • Agency will be required to provide the worker with a vehicle for transportation (Ford F250 4x4 or similar).
  • The monthly rental of this vehicle will be paid by the Agency and reimbursed by company.
  • The Worker/Agency will be reimbursed for all fuel costs associated with the rental of a vehicle/truck.
  • The Worker/Agency will be reimbursed for lodging and meals associated with work-related travel and overnight stays.
