Seasonal- Guest Services Specialist – Pikes Peak Highway (PT Administrative Support)

About this job: Pikes Peak – America's Mountain (PPAM) seeks a highly motivated and courteous individual for a part-time, seasonal opportunity. Under the guidance of professional staff, the Guest Services Specialist will obtain practical experience working in the tourism and hospitality industry at a world-renowned site. In this position, the Guest Services Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations at the gateway. Regular duties include welcoming guests, educating guests on maximizing their experience, collecting fees, and checking reservations at the entrance gateway to the highway that journeys up to the summit of Pikes Peak.

Job type: Seasonal Work schedule: Normal work hours will vary based on department needs. At least one weekend day will be required, and work hours will occur between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Position scheduled for up to 32 hours per week (may work additional hours as needed). Work location: 5069 Pikes Peak Hwy, Cascade, CO 80809, USA

This is a seasonal (at-will) position with benefits limited to those required by applicable state and federal laws, which include Worker's Compensation, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, and PERA (Public Employees' Retirement Association).

Approximate dates of employment will be Spring – Fall 2026. Scheduled hours will vary based on department needs. Total hours worked will not exceed 1,500 annually.

Normal work hours require working at least one weekend day – either Saturday or Sunday.

As a PPAM PT Administrative Support (Seasonal Position), you will:

  • Interact with guests in a friendly and engaging manner, providing overall exceptional customer service to the diverse population of guests PPAM serves.
  • Provide important information about visiting Pikes Peak and answer questions about other area attractions and recreational activities.
  • Utilize our point-of-sale system to collect fees and check-in reservations.
  • Conduct complex cash register functions in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Collect cash and cash equivalents; reconcile cash collection.
  • Respond to general inquiries by answering phones
  • Support special events and activities in accordance with event plans.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness, general maintenance, and appearance of the gateway, public restrooms, and surrounding areas.
  • Remove snow from gateway facilities walk ways and entrances.
  • Provide information on PPAM interpretation programs and special events for guests.
  • Operate two-way radios in accordance with departmental standards

  • Knowledge of cash reconciliation practices
  • Ability to use modern office technology
  • Ability to work in a team environment and excel with independent work responsibilities.
  • Knowledge and/or curiosity about the history, ecosystems, wildlife, and available recreational activities on Pikes Peak and at other regional sites
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of regional weather conditions and patterns

This position requires the candidate to be highly motivated with exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience working in customer service environments
  • Experience working with cash handling and cash reconciliation
  • Experience working with point-of-sale systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize duties in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently manage customer concerns and complaints
