Hybrid Mining Reliability Role

This is a hybrid role, requiring up to 50% travel among the four plant sites at:

  • Fernley, NV, US
  • Las Vegas, NV, US
  • Lovelock, NV, US
  • Reno, NV, US

This position is open to only candidates residing in the state of Nevada. Non-negotiable requirements of this position include:

  • Experience in the Mining industry
  • 5 years of experience in a reliability role
  • Knowledge of mining equipment

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop, lead, implement, and track programs/systems/processes/capital projects and equipment upgrades that improve equipment reliability/OEE (e.g., preventive, and predictive maintenance systems, precision maintenance techniques, detailed work plans and schedules, material recommendations, troubleshooting guides, repair plans, tracking spare parts, RCA etc.)
  • Continuously review and improve preventive maintenance task lists and processes. Perform failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) or similar failure mode analysis to develop appropriate equipment maintenance plans/strategies that include equipment checks, and preventive & predictive Maintenance
  • Study breakdowns and failures. Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis based on standardized trigger points, then implement corrective actions and improvement plans resulting from the RCFA's
  • Champion world class Maintenance Reliability Programs that include lubrication, vibration analysis, oil analysis, alignment, balancing, etc.
  • Manage small to large projects as needed to meet and improve equipment safety, regulatory compliance, reliability, performance, and maintenance costs, to achieve desired product quality and production rates
  • Review inspection reports and analyze data to determine effectiveness, quality of inspection and appropriate inspection intervals.
  • Conduct field analysis of operations, investigations, evaluation, and reviews and provide feedback to appropriate functional groups including executive staff
  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • 7-10+ years of supervisory or project experience in a manufacturing process environment
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years industrial maintenance experience with fans, material handling equipment (screw and belt conveyors / bucket elevators / airlocks / pneumatic conveying systems) 480-volt electrical distribution
  • Ability to comply with all corporate policies and the Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA)
  • Ability to measure performance against company standardized KPIs and provide assessments, reports, graphs, and other analyses of maintenance performance on a routine basis.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design, machine design and manufacturing systems – ability to easily understand mechanical concepts and processes.
  • Knowledge of electrical, electronic, and digital systems and concepts (motors, controls, instruments, power distribution, etc.)
  • Understand complex mathematical analysis, calculus, and other mathematics for design and troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, process flow, P&IDs, and one-line diagrams
  • Experience with precision maintenance techniques and their practical application
  • Experience with CMMS systems computer skills (entering work hours, work orders, parts usage, etc.)
  • Understanding of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Metrics
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
  • Basic understanding of principles related to reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and 5S
  • Basic understanding of principles related to lean / Six Sigma
  • Work with a high degree of autonomy in a dynamic environment

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Certified maintenance & reliability (cmrp) certification
  • Lean / six sigma green belt project leader certification
  • Knowledge of industry recognized and generally accepted engineering practices, as well as codes and applicable standards
  • ISO and related standards
  • Cost/capital analysis and justification
  • Speak effectively to suppliers, contractors, and employees
  • Write routine reports and correspondence
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization and information exists
  • Ability to communicate plans, thoughts, and rational with all levels of the company
  • Experience with IFS systems
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
