Description

Field Operator

The Field Operator works as part of a team in a continuous process manufacturing environment. The Field Operator will adhere to all safety and environmental parameters that apply in a chemical manufacturing operation. Reporting to the Production Shift Supervisor, the Field Operator is jointly responsible for ensuring production targets are being maintained while meeting all quality parameters for finished product.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate required
  • Associate technical degree certification preferred
  • Experience working with a Distributed Control System (DCS) preferred
  • Exceptional time management, work ethic and dependability
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with various levels of management throughout the organization
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to resolve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced environment
  • Able to work rotating 12 hour shift schedules
  • Physical requirements include, but may not be limited to, walking up and down stairs/ladders, working at heights and carrying up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in performing core process operations throughout the plant operations focused on pretreatment, boilers, cook and D&E functions.
  • Monitor and maintain process parameters, such as temperature, pressure, flow rates, and chemical concentrations, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Complete necessary documentation, including operating logs, maintenance records, and safety reports.
  • Support projects and specific work needed with operational expertise including permitting and lock-out, tag-out as needed.
  • Receive and offload chemical deliveries and store appropriately.
  • Actively participate in plant activities to include best practices, SOP development, maintenance, training, continuous improvement efforts, and standardization.
  • Ability to collaborate with multi-departmental teams to ensure critical routine duties are executed and completed on time and on budget.
  • Communicate with plant personnel and management to coordinate activities and ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Participate in training and development programs to gain knowledge in all areas and maintain/improve skills.
  • Support outage planning and restarting activities.
  • Work in an organized and safe manner.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing to ensure effective permitting, safety, and process documentation.
  • Provide support to other roles, as needed.
  • Additional duties, as assigned.
