This is a part-time position scheduled to work a maximum of 19 hours per week. This position is a continuous posting.
Salary Placement: The position is on a local schedule and will be placed on the local salary schedule at the President's discretion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions: Instructor must teach school bus driving courses per Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) guidelines; maintain classroom and equipment; assist students in attaining industry certifications; submit required reports on attendance and grades; and assist in registration. In addition, this employee must comply with all policies of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, the Alabama Community College System, and Northeast Alabama Community College.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:
- Organize, instruct, and supervise students in classroom, range, and road settings as assigned
- Prepare course materials in conjunction with departmental guidelines
- Maintain classroom, vehicles, supplies, and learning environments
- Assist in the registration process for non-credit students in the CDL and bus driving programs
- Provide assistance to the CDL program as directed by the Dean of Workforce Development and Skills Training
- Collect and maintain performance data for reporting purposes
- Assist in the development, evaluation, and revision of program curricula to insure maximum student competency
- Maintain appropriate work hours as outlined in State and College policies
- Participate in the College's planning process
- Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the College
- Maintain currency of professional knowledge, skills, and required licensures through professional development and continuing education
- Recruit students for the program and College at large
- Participate in training in the day, evening, and/or weekend, as directed
- Have knowledge of and commitment to the philosophy and objectives of Northeast Alabama Community College
- Represent the College and its philosophy to prospective students and to others in the community
- Comply with all policies of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, the Alabama Community College System, and Northeast Alabama Community College
- Maintain a safe, secure, and sanitary classroom and lab environment
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor, dean, and/or President
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- CDL endorsements (school bus certificate) is required
- High school diploma or equivalent GED is required
- Acceptable motor vehicle report required
- Three years documented recent school bus driving experience is required
- ALSDE certified school bus driving trainer is required
- Knowledge of Alabama and Federal CDL rules and regulations is required
- Competency in the use of current educational technologies is preferred
- Effective oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
