Basic Purpose of the Job:
Under general supervision and direction from the Parks Superintendent and/or Parks Team Leaders. Performs a variety of assigned duties and responsibilities involved in the maintenance of seasonal irrigated landscapes and downtown amenities. Learns and adheres to safety standards.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Work under the general direction and guidance of the Parks and Special Projects Superintendent and Parks Division Team Leaders. Must be able to exercise sound judgment.
Essential Functions:

- Performs watering, landscaping and weeding of floral amenities and city landscapes.
- Operates maintenance equipment and tools to water plants, prune trees, clean out gutters and other tasks related to keeping our downtown vibrant and beautiful.
- Provide excellent customer service and direct inquiries to appropriate department.
- Follows city safety regulations and practices proper safety precautions related to all work performed.

Job Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions
- Ability to safely operate a variety of hand tools
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Ability to comply with safety standards.
Licensures & Certificates (must be active and current.):
- Current Colorado driver's license with acceptable record.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical Demands: Requires ability to perform heavy manual labor. Strenuous physical work requiring ability to lift fifty pounds frequently and one hundred pounds occasionally; frequent lifting, carrying, walking and standing, hand/eye coordination. Occasional hand/eye coordination for operation of equipment; vision for reading and preparing written reports and documents; frequent speech communication, hearing and listening to maintain communications with employees and citizens.
Work Environment: Outside work, with exposure to outside elements. Requires driving and walking during inclement weather. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, twist or crawl. Occasional exposure to pesticides and herbicides, and occasional exposure to loud noise and airborne particles.
