Description
TFed Credit Union is hiring a full time, experienced Mortgage Processor to serve as a point of contact for members and internal partners, while also ensuring applications in process are accurate and prepared for underwriting. This role is on site at our main branch, 14 Church Green, Taunton, MA 02780. This position requires clear communication, attention to detail, accuracy, and a strong understanding of member service.
Role:
To assist members with their loan requests, providing clerical and administrative support needed to process and close member loans.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Reviews mortgage and commercial member loan applications and prepares them for review by a Loan Officer. Performs initial underwriting. Follows up with the Loan Officer to determine status. Processes approved loans and sets up date and time to close the loan and make disbursements. Closes loans as needed. Cross-sells other services.

Responsible for reviewing mortgage queue daily, running disclosures or preparing adverse actions. Assigns loans to originators or other processors. Maintain, update, and monitor loan pipeline and ensure accurate information is in place in a timely manner. Proactively reach out to members, staff, or vendors if necessary.

Identifies and takes action to improve the group's operating methods and procedures.

Files loan documents with the appropriate agencies. Prepares monthly reports as directed and assists in audit preparation.

Answers member phone calls.

Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
1.
Produce loan documents, reports, and new accounts with no unresolved errors according to
established department standards.
2.
Prepare files for approval within 24 hours of receipt of appraisal.
3.
Provide informed, prompt, professional and accurate service and support to all members and
associates by responding to email within 2-3 hours, answering telephone within 3 rings and
replying to messages within 5 minutes.
4.
Complete, organize and close loan documentation and files within 1 week of loan closing.
5.
Develop, maintain, and demonstrate a working knowledge of credit union loan standards, policies,
procedures, and applicable state and federal government rules and regulations.
6.
Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience
One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education
(1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills
Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Other Skills
Must have good communication skills. Microsoft Office proficiency. Prior financial institution experience.
