Position Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across financial processes. This role plays a critical part in managing day-to-day accounting functions, leading the monthly close process, and supporting strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to collaborate cross-functionally to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger activities
  • Oversee billing processes, vendor payments, and cash flow management to ensure timely and accurate transactions
  • Lead the monthly close process, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and preparation of financial statements
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports to support leadership decision-making
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities, including variance analysis and financial planning
  • Partner with external accountants and auditors to ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements
  • Establish, document, and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets
  • Collaborate with Operations and Sales teams to ensure accurate revenue tracking and reporting
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments

  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail

This is a full time position that is being offered with Hybrid flexibility, with a preference on candidates local to Sonoma County. Salary offering between $100-125k and commensurate with experience.
