Forklift Driver / Material Handler (Stand-Up)

Summary
A Forklift Driver / Material Handler is responsible for operating material handling equipment, specifically forklifts, to receive, store, and distribute materials, parts, and supplies. This role involves using wireless RF scanning equipment to ensure accurate tracking and disposition of materials. The position requires proficiency in operating both stand-up reach trucks and sit-down forklifts to navigate racks and containers effectively.

Essential Functions

Safely and efficiently operate material handling equipment, including stand-up reach trucks and sit-down forklifts, to maneuver racks and containersMove, locate, relocate, load, unload, and stack materials in the designated areasPerform routine daily equipment inspections and escalate issuesGather finished orders for movement to the outbound shipping areaEnsure product is labeled and free of damage, overages, and shortagesAccurately complete all related paperworkAdhere to quality and customer service standards set forth by the companyObserve and comply with all safety procedures and guidelinesEnsure that materials loaded for transportation are properly stacked and securePerform housekeeping tasks such as sweeping and removing scrap, pallets, cardboard, etc.Perform all other duties as assignedRegular and reliable attendance at workParticipate in all TVS SCS quality and excellence initiatives

The associate may occasionally be required to lift 51 pounds, anything greater than 51 pounds requires assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
This job is performed in a busy warehouse environment with high forklift traffic. Warehouses are subject to seasonal temperatures. Steel-toed shoes and vests are required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-time. Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours is required.

Travel
No travel is required between locations.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent 2+ years of experience operating a forklift in a busy warehouse environment, stand-up and sit-down experience requiredOSHA-endorsed forklift certification or ability to become certified
