Job Title: Lead Worker (Shipfitting)
Location: Pascagoula, MS
Job Overview: The Lead Worker (Shipfitting) supervises the activities of a group of hourly welders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilizes knowledge of the working characteristics of metallic and non-metallic materials, including the specifications of the equipment to be used in the welding process.
- Performs tank testing and associated duties as required.
Experience:
- At least Five (5) years of assembly/prefab Shipfitter experience. Prior supervision experience is preferred.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
Skills and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of welding-specific processes and techniques in addition to being familiar with standard marine practices and general specifications for construction.
- Experience in structural fabrication and the ability to read/understand drawings is required.
- Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with employees, work well with others, and have the ability to plan/schedule craft-specific work tasks
- Must have a strong focus on quality, production, safety, and environmental aspects of work being performed.
