Van And Bus Drivers
Gridley Unified School District is now hiring for Van Drivers and/or Bus Drivers for on-call work! Join our team and help safely transport students to and from school each day. We're looking for responsible, reliable drivers who care about student safety and enjoy working with children.
Requirements / Qualifications
Please submit the following: 1) Edjoin application 2) CA Class C drivers license for Car Van Drivers; CA Class B drivers license with PS endorsement 3) DMV driving record report (H-6) showing satisfactory driver record 4) Medical certification
Minimum qualifications: 1. Possess a valid California Class C Driver's License for Van driving and Class B with PS endorsement for Bus driving 2. District First Aid and CPR training is required and will be provided. 3. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 4. Drivers must be subject to and comply with drug and alcohol testing. 5. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 6. Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work. 7. Must complete initial trainings and subsequent trainings, including first aid training.
Brief description of position: 1. Performs a daily safety check on the bus before driving. 2. Drives car/van daily over designated routes, picking up and discharging students in accordance with time schedules. 3. Escorts pupils across street and roads as necessary and required. 4. Transports special-needs students and instructors on special trips to various locations according to a planned schedule. 5. Maintains order among students in vehicle. 6. Submits daily vehicle reports. 7. Sees that all laws and regulations as set forth by the Education Code, the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Board of Trustees are met. 8. Assists in maintaining the bus in a clean and safe operating condition.
Comments and Other Information
Fingerprinting for the purpose of conducting a background clearance and TB clearance will be required prior to employment. To comply with the Immigration Reform & Control Act of 1986, all new employees must provide proof of identity and authorization to work in the United States. Drivers and employees are subject to drug and alcohol testing pursuant to Federal Regulations, Title 49, Part 382. (AR 4112.18 & 4313.08)
