Packer Feeder Production Team Member

The Opportunity
As a key member of the Dallas, TX manufacturing team, the Packer Feeder plays an essential role in fulfilling customer orders by ensuring folding cartons move efficiently and accurately through the finishing process. This role supports daily production by feeding die-cut blanks into folder gluer machines, packing finished cartons into corrugated cases, and maintaining quality standards throughout each run. A typical day involves working closely with machine operators and the quality team, visually inspecting cartons for defects, verifying counts, and preparing lines for the next production item. This position contributes directly to production flow, product quality, workplace safety, and the overall success of the finishing department.
How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock
- Feed die-cut blanks into folder gluer machines to support safe, efficient, and continuous production.
- Inspect cartons throughout the packing process to identify printing, die-cutting, or gluing defects and ensure quality standards are met.
- Verify case counts in partnership with the quality team to ensure order accuracy.
- Participate in line clearance activities following the completion of each production item.
- Support finishing operations by assisting in other areas as needed, including quality sorting and flat packing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in alignment with plant standards and safety expectations.
- Follow all safety procedures, proactively identify hazards, and report unsafe conditions, near misses, or incidents promptly.

- Ability to read and understand simple instructions.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Willingness to work overtime as required, including periods of significant overtime during peak production.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to distinguish colors.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

- Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for repetitive tasks.
