Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Phlebotomist IV, you will competently collect blood and other patient specimens for diagnostic testing, ensuring comfort and safety.

Every day you will

  • Identify patients, explain procedures, proficiently perform venipunctures, and accurately label/prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, adhering to safety protocols
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions exactly.
  • Must demonstrate and promote teamwork.
  • Must be able to work in a calm and conscientious manner under high volume and STAT conditions.
  • Have Basic communication skills and the ability to be caring and personable with patients are mandatory.
  • Rigid accuracy in the identification of patient names and numbers and the ability to perform phlebotomy successfully using established procedures on patients of all ages are essential qualifications.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills for accurate diagnostics and patient satisfaction.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Must have a valid and current California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I certificate.
  • Must complete required continuing education requirements to maintain State CPT I certification.
  • Three or more years of full-time laboratory experience.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of standard laboratory terminology is preferred.
