Position Overview

The Lead Dental Assistant supports the clinical team in delivering outstanding patient care while ensuring an efficient and comfortable experience for children and their families. This role requires a friendly, energetic, and patient-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced pediatric environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during a variety of pediatric dental procedures
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care
  • Take and record dental radiographs (X-rays) in compliance with state regulations
  • Ensure proper sterilization and infection control protocols are followed
  • Comfort and guide pediatric patients, creating a positive experience
  • Provide chairside assistance including suctioning, instrument transfer, and charting
  • Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Support office flow by preparing rooms and turning over operatories efficiently
  • Assist with inventory management and stocking of clinical supplies
  • Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, and company policies and procedures

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Prior dental assisting experience preferred (pediatric experience a plus)
  • Lead experience preferred or years of experience
  • Dental Assistant certification as required by state
  • X-ray certification (if applicable by state)
  • CPR/BLS certification preferred
  • Experience with dental software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, etc.) preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
