Description
Bus Driver
Drive a regular bus route to transport students and other authorized persons to and from school, as well as additional driving for field trips or other extra trips as designated.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain discipline of students and report misbehavior.
- Check vehicle equipment, and fuel prior to each departure; report and document any irregularities or trouble with equipment.
- Maintain consistent safety standards and pre-trip reports.
- Participate in bus driver safety meetings, training courses as scheduled by the Transportation Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma is required.
- Valid Washington State Commercial Driver's License with school bus and passenger endorsements; current Medical Examiners Certificate and first aid certification; and driving record free of chargeable accidents or traffic violations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a bus driver or in the transportation field.
Physical Demands:
- Good communication skills to build rapport with students and parents.
- Must be able to remain in stationary position more than 50% of the time.
Travel:
- Drive a regular bus route to transport students.
- Additional driving for field trips as designated.
Hours:
- Part-time/10 months per year
- Approx. 5:45 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on all school days.
Pay $26.00 - $30.00
