Description
Facilities Maintenance Assistant
The Facilities Maintenance Assistant is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, functionality, and safety of the warehouse and its equipment. This role works closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, Facilities Supervisor, Operations Manager, and Director of Operations to plan, schedule, and execute cleaning, repairs, audits, and preventative maintenance. The position requires a proactive, hands-on individual who can manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and uphold safety and compliance standards.
What you'll do
- Partner with leadership (Facilities Supervisor, Operations Manager, Director of Operations) on maintenance work and special projects.
- Oversee equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections.
- Conduct equipment audits and maintain accurate records.
- Manage parts inventory and place orders as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and security protocols.
- Coordinate and ensure completion of annual fire extinguisher inspections.
- Perform scheduled compressor maintenance (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
- Assist with battery care, including charging and watering.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the work area at the end of each shift
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
What you bring to the team
- Minimum 1 year of experience in warehouse repairs and maintenance.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and execute tasks with precision.
- Excellent organizational skills; able to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to change.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset.
- Willingness to work extra hours when required.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Physical Requirements
Occasionally: Activity exists up to 1/3 of a 12-hour shift.
Frequently: Activity exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of a 12-hour shift.
Constantly: Activity exists 2/3 or more of a 12-hour shift.
