The Commercial Credit Underwriter II position is included in a workplace model that allows a combination of remote and in-person work.

As a Commercial Credit Underwriter II, the essential responsibilities include:

  • Underwrites commercial and business loan requests identifying credit, collateral-asset, transaction, interest rate, compliance and strategic risk contained in the proposed transaction.
  • Evaluates and analyzes cash flow on a borrower's commercial loan requests including stress testing scenarios, appropriate to the transaction.
  • Underwrites collateral of a commercial loan request to determine quality and liquidity.
  • Analyzes industry & market risk and economic conditions.
  • Identifies concentrations and risk(s) assumed by borrowers and lessees.
  • Creates projections when necessary.
  • Analyzes financial statements and tax return.
  • Develops written presentations and analysis with recommendations for approval by Executive Credit Committee.
  • Obtains and analyzes personal and business credit reports, lien search documents, etc.
  • Identifies and assists Commercial Bankers in the establishment of covenants, lending structure and collateral adequacy appropriate to the transaction.
  • Identifies policy, procedure and documentation exceptions and risks.
  • Measures and identifies risk – reward ratio and returns, risk ratings etc.
  • Participates in client calls and site visits as necessary and facilitates client interaction and dialogue with regards to identifying risks.
  • Underwrites Small Business loan requests.
  • Assumes the responsibilities of the senior Credit Underwriter (Credit Underwriter III) in their absence.
  • Manages other projects within the department to support commercial lending activities for the Bank and monitor's credit risk in the portfolio.
  • Completes testing for financial covenants for assigned credits as appropriate.
  • Validates accuracy of information submitted to Bank's borrowing base monitoring system by borrower's.

Qualifications
Education

Preferred: Bachelors or better in Accounting or related field.

Bachelors or better in Finance or related field.

Masters or better in Accounting.
