Description
Prepare, process, and verify outbound shipments: create/verify labels and documents, schedule carrier pickups, audit orders, and pull/pack as needed to meet delivery goals.
Perform receiving support: inspect incoming material against purchase orders/specifications, document discrepancies/defects, and ensure proper quarantine/processing of nonconforming material.
Execute accurate system transactions in CHESS/MRP, WMS, and Document Manager to record shipments, receipts, and inventory movements; maintain data accuracy and traceability.
Conduct audits and counts: audit incoming receiving and outbound packing processes; perform cycle counts; support physical inventories and related reconciliations.
Act as a liaison with Production, Materials/Purchasing, and other departments to promptly address issues affecting on-time shipment of product.
Support freight claim initiation and carrier claim resolution; assist with lost/damaged freight issues; serve as backup contact for carriers.
Prepare or back up preparation of HAZMAT paperwork and regulated shipment labeling when required (e.g., paint).
Complete administrative tasks to support Shipping and Inventory/Receiving leadership; adhere to ISO/OSHA requirements and all company policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Key Measurements
On-time shipment/service performance (support achieving divisional target).
Zero shipping errors.
Inventory and cycle count accuracy.
Timely processing of RGAs and freight claims (e.g., within 48 hours).
General Requirements
Self-Managed Performance (SMP) participation and engagement.
ISO compliant; OSHA compliant.
Resolve or actively address all non-conformance items.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Level of Supervision
Works under general supervision; collaborates daily with Shipping Lead and cross-functional partners.

None.
Training & Development
Participation in training and development activities is expected throughout employment.
Required Education / Experience / Skills
High School Diploma or GED.
3–5+ years' experience in manufacturing operations, shipping/receiving, logistics, or inventory management using modern techniques (cycle counting, MRP, JIT).
Proficient verbal and written English communication skills.
Preferred
APICS certification or Associate's/Bachelor's degree.
ISO/OSHA experience.
HAZMAT certification.
Technical Skills
Microsoft Office proficiency.
Familiarity with MRPII/ERP (e.g., CHESS), WMS, Document Manager, and related plant systems; ability to learn AIMS where applicable.

Qualifications
Education
Required High School or better.
Preferred Associates or better. Bachelors or better.
Experience
Preferred 3-5 years: Cross-functional communication (Production, Purchasing, Customer Service)
3-5 years: Coordinating shipments with carriers (scheduling, documentation, issue resolution)
3-5 years: ERP/MRP systems + WMS usage (not just exposure—daily transaction work)
3-5 years: Inventory control (cycle counts, audits, reconciliations)
3-5 years: Shipping & receiving in a manufacturing setting
