Must-Have: Knowledge of Joint Commission, Title 17 & 22, and ACR survey/compliance and performance criterion. Thorough knowledge of human structure and function, patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic exposure, quality assurance, radiation physics, radiation protection, radiobiology, and specialized techniques as required for a Diagnostic Technologist. Self-motivated with excellent communication skills and problem-solving techniques. Demonstrated leadership ability, with the ability to respectfully motivate, delegate, and analyze information. Ability to monitor, evaluate, and administer resources effectively.

Description: Under immediate supervision of the Manager, Radiology, the Assistant Manager will carry out assignments to assure success in financial management, human resources management, leadership, quality, and operational management objectives. The Assistant Manager of Radiology will assist in implementing program development and department performance improvement. Direct patient diagnostic procedures and education will be performed for patients, families, students, and staff as needed. The Assistant Manager will supervise Lead Technologists, Senior Technologists, and indirectly all individuals involved in the technical aspects of the department. Collaboration with clerical staff, nursing staff, and service engineers will be important in this role. The Assistant Manager will consistently demonstrate core values and serve as a role model to other employees. Responsibilities include image quality control and enforcement of policies and procedures in designated areas. Participation in managing daily staffing requirements to meet budgets and productivity targets is expected. The Assistant Manager will promote employee satisfaction, support staff development, and utilize the progressive discipline process when appropriate. Maintaining and promoting quality service and best practices related to a staff/patient-centered approach to healthcare is essential. Participation in quality improvement processes and ensuring the implementation of regulatory standards will be key responsibilities. Continual observation and evaluation of departmental function and the delivery of patient service is required. Regular updates to management regarding the level of care/service provided and satisfaction levels of patients, employees, and physicians will be part of the role. Acting as a liaison between the patient/family, physician, and patient care team will be necessary to problem solve. In conjunction with management, translating knowledge of professional and regulatory standards to policies, practices, and procedures is vital. Researching interdepartmental problems and taking corrective action in a timely manner while promoting respectful communication will enhance patient-centered care. The Assistant Manager will act as a resource to other departments for education and information in the area of expertise. Facilitating and coordinating imaging services with other hospital departments will be part of the responsibilities. Maintaining competencies and technical skills at a level to function fully in the clinical setting is essential. Completion of assigned annual evaluations in a timely manner is expected. The position is responsible for age-related, physiological, emotional, and cognitive needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
