Assembly Technician – Tier 2
At Shredfast Inc., an Assembly Technician – Tier 2 reports to the Assembly Lead and operates as a senior production employee within the Assembly Department, both carrying out advanced mechanical system install functions and providing guidance for the department in the absence of the Assembly Lead. An employee in this position should have adequate knowledge of assembly processes and builds to answer all intra-department junior staff questions and coordinate effectively with other departments, including knowledge of installation, mechanical system construction, and parts preparation.

Duties and Responsibilities
- All duties of a Tier 1 Assembly Technician including:
- Install seals, covers, fixtures and fittings
- Prepare assembly parts for install
- Follow blueprints and schematics
- Perform basic carpentry and metal fabrication work including drilling, cutting, and grinding
- Clean work area
- Install large mechanical assemblies such as lifts, conveyor systems, and auger assemblies
- Assemble mechanical systems such as conveyor and auger assemblies
- Lead junior staff in landing boxes on chassis
- Assist in training new hires
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
- Must be in good physical condition and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, get in and out of vehicles and work on ladders throughout the day
- Must be self-motivated and able to stay on task with good attention to detail
- Dependable transportation required
- Must maintain a clean and organized work environment
Additional Information
All applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. This is a Safety Sensitive position that requires a pre-employment drug screen that includes marijuana (tetrahydrocannabinol – THC & nonpsychoactive cannabis metabolites- CBD), amphetamines, cocaine metabolites, opioids (including heroin, morphine, and codeine), and phencyclidine (PCP).
Shift Schedule:
Monday to Friday / 7:00am – 3:00pm (non-exempt) for Full-Time position

Requirements:
- A strong understanding of assembly techniques is required
- 2 years of experience in an assembly or manufacturing field is preferred
- Have good verbal and written communication skills
- Read a tape measure
- Ability to use basic hand tools, drills & air tools
- Must be self-motivated and able to stay on task with good attention to detail
- Must maintain a clean and organized work environment
