Concession Staff

The Concession Staff member supports the daily operation of the concession area by providing friendly, efficient service to all guests. This role is responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Concession Staff contribute to a positive guest experience by delivering high-quality service, working collaboratively with team members, and upholding all food safety and organizational standards.

What Your Day May Look Like

  • Prepare and open the concession stand, ensuring equipment is clean, stocked, and operating safely.
  • Prepare and serve food in accordance with HCC and Health Department guidelines.
  • Operate equipment and handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the concession area throughout the shift.
  • Monitor inventory, restock supplies, and report equipment issues or shortages.
  • Respond to guest needs and challenges with professionalism while maintaining a calm, positive approach.
  • Follow all safety policies and emergency procedures.
  • Build positive relationships with staff and participants, fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Attend required meetings, meet attendance expectations, and arrive prepared in proper uniform.
  • Assist with closing duties to ensure smooth daily operations.

Your role helps create a positive guest experience and supports safe, high-quality concession operations.

Schedule & Compensation: 4 Positions Positions 1-4: Harlem Community Center (900 Roosevelt Road, Machesney Park and 9400 Forest Hills Road, Loves Park)

Part Time, Non-Exempt Up to 25 hours per week Availability: Monday - Thursday 5:30 - 9:00 pm and Friday - Sunday 8:00 am - 8:00 pm $15.00 per hour

Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 16 years old required
  • At least two years' high school education, or equivalent, required
  • Prior customer service and/or money handling experience preferred
  • CPR, AED and First Aid certifications required within 90 days
