Job Details
You'll step into a high-impact role at the center of project execution, partnering directly with operations to own the financial side of complex construction projects. You'll be embedded with project teams, influencing decisions, protecting margins, and helping drive projects from kickoff through closeout. If you enjoy working cross-functionally, being close to the action, and turning numbers into real-world impact, this is the kind of role where you can stand out quickly. What you'll do:
- Take ownership of project billing, including preparing and tracking monthly requisitions to owners
- Partner with Project Managers and Engineers on forecasting (CTC/WIP) and financial planning
- Monitor project performance, identifying over/under billings and driving solutions
- Proactively flag risks, cost exposures, and potential write-offs before they become issues
- Own the subcontractor billing process from procure-to-pay, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Ensure subcontractors meet all contractual requirements (insurance, lien waivers, billing terms, etc.)
- Track project cash flow and help maintain strong financial visibility across jobs
- Lead financial coordination through project closeout, including reconciliations and final reporting
- Interpret contracts and ensure alignment with billing terms and project requirements
- Work side-by-side with Project Managers, Engineers, and Superintendents on day-to-day financial strategy
- Support collections and build out cash flow forecasts for active projects
- Participate in project meetings and play a visible role in driving project success
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally in construction or project-based environments
- A relationship-driven mindset — you enjoy working with people, not just spreadsheets
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to partner with operations
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with construction ERP systems (Viewpoint Spectrum or similar is a plus)
